Leadership Retreat

The Damascus Outdoor School offers a unique adventure-based learning program that is proven to help increase confidence, commitment, and leadership among your students.

Our program utilizes a number of high ropes and low ropes initiatives, as well as incredible adventure-based learning programs and activities.

Students will develop the following skills:

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Increased leadership in the areas of communication, teamwork, problem-solving, determination
  • Listening to ideas and thoughts contrary to their own
  • Ability to overcome fears and accomplish a task they did not think they could accomplish
  • Growth in a sense of empowerment
  • Servant and virtue-based leadership
  • Overcome their weaknesses and develop their strengths

Jesus teaches us how to lead through serving others and by laying our lives down for the sake of others.

Damascus is the only Outdoor School in Ohio that offers a unique Catholic perspective in our teaching and application. We incorporate the saints and scripture in all of our courses; It is truly an Environment of Encounter where young people encounter the powerful love and majesty of God.

Our trained staff offer courses that have been developed in partnership with nationally recognized adventure leadership institute, Phoenix Experiential Designs.   Key retreat sessions include:
